About Julie
Julie is a certified yoga teacher and continuing education provider, registered with the Yoga Alliance (ERYT-500/ RPYT/ YACEP), and an Ayurvedic Health Counselor, registered with the National Ayurvedic Medical Association.
Upon completing her 200 hour yoga teacher training, Julie decided to leave her career in the corporate world to teach yoga full time. She spent the next few years gaining as much hands on experience possible, using each class as an opportunity to not only share her knowledge, but also to learn and grow from interacting with her students. She immersed herself in her studies by practicing and training with a wide variety of teachers from many different backgrounds.
Wishing to connect on a deeper level to the roots of the ancient practice, Julie traveled to the birthplace of yoga – Rishikesh, India – to continue her education. There, she studied various styles of yoga, focusing on the Iyengar and Ashtanga lineages, as well as therapeutic yoga techniques. She completed her 300 hour teacher training at a peaceful ashram located along the banks of the sacred Ganga River, in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains.
Over the years, Julie has continued to expand her education by earning additional certifications in yin yoga, yoga nidra, myofascial release, herbalism, and, most notably, prenatal yoga and Ayurvedic prenatal and postnatal care.
As a lifelong student of yoga, Julie recognizes that her teachers appear in many forms. During her first pregnancy, her yoga practice dramatically shifted, and her son quickly became one of her most influential teachers. Her journey into motherhood was a profound and transformative experience, and during this time, Julie realized that her yoga practice had never been stronger, although it looked significantly different than it had years before. Now, she aims to use everything she has learned from her studies and experiences to guide others through this transformational time with grace and support.

Teachings
Julie’s teachings focus on a combination of traditional Hatha yoga principles, strong alignment, powerful transitions, and graceful vinyasa flow elements. Her goal is to help each student develop greater self-awareness and sense of freedom, increase strength and flexibility, and experience a state of balance and connection between the body, mind, and environment. She weaves principles of Ayurvedic wisdom and other holistic healing approaches into her teachings.
Julie sees yoga and Ayurvedic wisdom as powerful and inseparable healing tools, which, together, serve as a solid foundation for building overall wellness. She believes that every person is capable of finding their ideal balanced state through their own unique mix of holistic healing modalities. Julie is committed to providing each of her students with the guidance, education, and resources to discover their own personal growth and healing potential.
