What is Reiki?

Reiki is powerful yet gentle technique, which uses the light touch of the practitioner to transfer healing life force energy to the client. A Reiki session allows the client to drift into a deep state of relaxation, at which time the body is able to direct its energy to any areas where healing needs to occur. It is a method of drawing universal life force energy into the physical and mental body, and has a strong refreshing and rejuvenating effect.


Worldwide, there are a number of Reiki traditions practiced today. Julie has been trained in the Holy Fire Reiki tradition, which is a specific energy frequency. Holy Fire Reiki has been gaining popularity recently due to its ability to produce strong results by using very subtle techniques.

Reiki Sessions

What to expect during a Reiki session

A Reiki session can be performed anywhere, and once you have gone through the ignition process, you can even practice Reiki on yourself! A typical Reiki session will take place in a peaceful environment, on a comfortable massage table, and you will remain fully clothed. You will be asked to close your eyes and allow yourself to relax. Julie will begin by preparing the room, inviting the healing energy to begin flowing, and will then gently place their hands on you to direct the energy flow. If you are uncomfortable with physical touch, it is still possible to experience the benefits of Reiki, as Julie will simply direct the flow into your energy field.

A typical session will last 60 minutes, with about 50 minutes of hands on energy work, and 10 minutes to discuss what you experienced during the session. Each person will have their own unique experience, and it is important to begin the session with an open mind, and without any expectations. The healing works on a deep level, and may address deeply-rooted issues that you were unaware of. Remember, wherever the energy flows is where it is needed the most.

Preparing for a Reiki session

It is not necessary to do anything out of the ordinary before a Reiki session. However, in order to receive the full benefits of the healing energy it is recommended to eat a nourishing diet of whole foods, and drink plenty of water.


It is also recommended to wear comfortable clothing.


Reiki with Julie

Reiki is just one of the powerful tools used to achieve overall wellness. Julie offers simple Reiki sessions, but may include complementary healing techniques in the session depending on the clients specific wants and needs. A Reiki session with Julie may include gentle yoga, breath work, aromatherapy, crystal healing, or sound healing.
